Specialized Academic Instructor
Louis Smith is a Specialized Academic Instructor with 21 years of experience in educational settings. Joined the Santa Clara County Office of Education teaching force in 2008. Enjoys spending time with family, friends and collecting old school bikes, reading and viewing art. Encourages all to continue with lifelong learning and to keep moving forward.
Salina Ramirez has been with SCCOE since 2002. She has over 15 years of experience as a paraeducator, working for many years at Osborne School in Juvenile Hall, Chandler Tripp ESP (DHOH), Foothill Annex and now Opportunity Youth Academy (OYA). Salina has experience with both Special Education and Alternative Education programs. Currently, Salina provides classroom support at both OYA Hub and OYA Washington. As paraeducator, Salina assists in intakes, processing enrollment and helping students reengage with their education. In addition, Salina is supportive in maintaining an effective learning environment and monitoring student progress toward obtaining their High School diploma.
Outside of work Salina enjoys spending time with family and loved ones, traveling to new cities, cooking and being a mom to her two kids.
